Who Will Be Williamson County Register Of Deeds

FRANKLIN — Cardboard boxes take started to find their fashion into the function of Register of Deeds Sadie Wade.

For the last 32 years, Wade has been the register for Williamson County. Incoming register Sherry Anderson will take her place later on her win in the May principal. After the August general, Anderson will officially take over the office.

"We are a family," said Wade, who has worked 45 years full for the county government. "They are making me promise that I will come up dorsum and eat lunch with them. That'south the most enjoyable office of the job — the people. And I am going to really miss them."

Wade said the biggest challenge during her tenure consisted of keeping up with the growth of Williamson County. She felt her office was 1 of the busiest of the canton departments and has only kept growing since she took over in 1986.

"Nosotros changed from a pen and paper office to computerization," Wade said. "We went from having tons of books and paper to having no newspaper at all. If we had stayed pen and paper, we would accept to accept enough more employees. Nosotros take a lot do in this role, but it's 1 of the most organized."

Equally Wade looks forward to retirement in the upcoming weeks, she said she planned to relax at abode and become on a personal organization spree.

"I also want to stay upward and watch movies," she said with a express joy. "Just lately I wanted to stay up and lookout a movie with James Dean in it. Now if I desire to stay up until midnight, I can."

The main office of the annals's function is recording the legal condition of real and personal property. A register also records powers of attorney and collects some revenue.

The office is upwardly for election every four years and was first created in Tennessee in 1834.

About Wade

Wade, 77, is one of longest-serving officials in the Williamson County government.

She is married to her husband, Don, who retired every bit a rodeo cowboy. The couple have ii adult sons and i granddaughter. After traveling much of the country already, Wade said she would look forrard to staying at home in Franklin during her retirement.
